Sweet! I was at Breitenbush that winter, and a couple of other winters like it! A winter wonderland, truly. The snowy walls along the pathways through the community village were at least 8′ high and single track. The only way to pass another pedestrian on the track was to back up and squeak off at a pathway to a cabin and let the person by. After a few days and more snow, the compacted track was actually almost 2 feet above the ground. If your foot slipped off the track to the side you would post hole deep down into the softer snow just off the track. It became treacherous! But oh so glorious!

Great story John 🙂 Shanti Little and Deva Bluemoon lived in F-6, as did Susan Cassuto and so many others. My vision is to have each community dwelling at Breitenbush to have a list of all the community members (with dates) who have lived in each space. *(I was going to say each “cabin”, but there are “A-frames”, Yurts, Trailers, RV’s and Tent platforms too.) This would not only be very interesting, but would also show the generations of people who have “grown” Breitenbush over the years, decades, and now, centuries! It would also impress upon current residents, that their presence, and contribution, will someday show up in the lineup of homies in the various spaces they inhabited over the course of the “housing shuffle” at Breitenbush!
